To keep in compliance with State Law and best practices, for the 2018-19 school year, we will require that all persons interested in volunteering in the Fulton County School District to re-register/register (even if a person has completed an application in the past) by completing the new online volunteer registration/application process. Applicants should be prepared to spend about 10-15 minutes for the training and application process. In accordance with State Law, all volunteers must be current with the Child Abuse Reporting Protocol Training before being allowed to volunteer in our schools. It is very important that volunteers enter their full legal name as it appears on their government issued ID (please do not use nicknames or “goes by” names on the application). All applicants must wait 24 hours after applying for application processing and approval. Volunteers must bring their gov’t issued picture ID to be scanned at the front office on their first visit to the school after the new screening is approved.
Parent volunteers are needed at every match to serve as Line Judges, Score Flippers, Scorekeepers and Libero Trackers. Check with your designated Team Parent to sign up for these roles. Helpful tips can be seen on the links below or under the Resources tab.
A person who judges if the ball falls in or out of the court. There are 2 line judges in a game, and they stand at either end of the court. They help to judge whether a serve is in or out, and they can tell the UP ref if the server stepped over the line on their serve. Unlike referees, line judges do not need any special training, and do not get paid. They must however pay close attention and call things fairly and as accurate as possible.
